We are excited to bring chess back to SPE in 2024-25! Please read below for complete details:


When/Where:


Chess club will meet each of the following Tuesdays after school from 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM in (CLASSROOMS TBD).

 Schedule:


September 10, 17, 24 


October 1,  No chess October 8th for Fall Break, 15, 22, 29

No chess November 5 for election day

November 12, 19 No chess on November 26 for Thanksgiving Break

December 3, 10, 17  (12-weeks total). 

2ND SEMESTER:


January 14, 21, 28

February 4, 11, 18, 25

March 4, (NO CHESS FOR SPRING BREAK MARCH 11), 18, 25

April 1, 8, 15  (SNOW DAY MAKEUP APRIL 22)

Who can register?


The first 72-students in grades 1st-5th at Sylvan Park Elementary. (3-Group Levels)

Each student will receive a 1-year Gold Membership to ChessKid.com to supplement our in-class learning! (Normally $49 per year)

Once registration closes, we will send out a complete, informational email to our team about  their coach, how students will transition to chess, how they will be dismissed, how we will communicate  to our parents of the team, and of course, complete information about all upcoming tournaments and  events where we want to see the Panther Chess Team competing!
